Praying Men

July 1, 2009 — 1 Comment

Joel Virgo has blogged about getting men to pray at church.

In what I think is an excellent post Joel makes the claim that we need to, “Intentionally gather guys to seek God. They will rise to it, and the church will follow.”

It’s not about creating a male-dominated environment but creating an environment that allows men to become the men that God called them to be.

Anyway, I don’t need to write more as Joel did an excellent job.

Thanks for that. And totally agree with what he says about church being an effeminate environment. For those of us women not made quite that way it is kind of hard work too. But like so many we learn to just live with it as it can be too hard to challenge it.

Must say I am glad I have a praying man who actually I send to prayer meetings as, apart from being too quiet at times, he is so so good at it!! Though being Ian it does then carry on into the night back at our house :)

Must say one of the reason I like the 24/7 prayer movement is that in many of the places I’ve seen it can be quite masculine, though of course like so many things gets hi-jacked by the more dominant women and can then become “fluffy”!

Love and blessings on your first day in the new job and look forward to hearing about it.
