Very much taught my kids to have down time where they are just quiet and do nothing, and even now they still do that - though Ben does include the Xbox too. Though he only got this at 17. I think too that school and church teaches them too often to be busy and doing so they don't get bored. One of the things I and many other home schoolers did was to let our kids just be bored and know it was ok. Totally agree with you on this.
